Bojar is a leading company specializing in laminated glass, tempered glass, fire glass, fa\u00e7ade glass located in northeastern Poland. However, double glazing has not always been present in this company’s product range. In 1997, Bojar was established in Elk as a distributor of PVC profiles and window accessories.<\/p>\n

In 2003. The company seized the opportunity to become a one-stop supplier and began producing insulating glass units. To this end, it built a new production facility with glass processing machinery. The last 2 years have been very productive for the company. It has purchased some of the most modern machines on the market, which are adapted to, among other things. to produce facade glass weighing up to 2 tons and 100 mm thick.<\/p>\n

Current standards are outdated<\/strong>
– Most glass suppliers still rely on archaic standards and requirements that are not stringent enough for the expectations of today’s customers. In response to current market demand, Bojar has developed its own standards, which are more stringent compared to current official standards. We were able to do this thanks to implementation of modern technologies and many years of experience,” says Krzysztof Harasimowicz. The phenomenon of opalescence, also known as anisotropy, is a good example of the differences in industrial standards.<\/p>\n
Although not officially a defect, Bojar customers increasingly perceived glass with anisotropy as low-quality glass. – Customers’ attitudes toward anisotropy have changed our approach to this phenomenon and methods of measuring it. – Krzysztof Harasimowicz explains.<\/p>\n
– Similar to for tempered glass exposed to waviness from rollers (roller wave). The standards have been tightened over the years (specifying the maximum acceptable defect for this phenomenon). We make the same assessment in this situation, that changing expectations about the level of anisotropy will significantly affect the tempered glass market.<\/p>\n
Ready for changes in standards in the glass industry<\/strong>
In order to better cope with controlling anisotropy and be ready for potential changes in the industry, Bojar invested in 2018 in modern technologies and machines adapted specifically for this purpose.<\/p>\n
Among others, a new glass tempering furnace, the Glaston FC series equipped with an iLook scanner, which measures the quality of all processed glass. Insight Reporting Pro, a powerful online reporting system, has also been implemented. For Krzysztof Harasimowicz, the purchase of the machine is more than new tempering capabilities or increased production. It is very important to constantly control and improve the production process of tempered glass.<\/p>\n
– The main reason for purchasing the iLook scanner was the ability to monitor the quality of the glass on an ongoing basis and control anisotropy, says Krzysztof Harasimowicz. – Thanks to the scanner, we were able to minimize this phenomenon, offering glass with no visible anisotropy, even for those observing the glass in unfavorable lighting conditions.<\/p>\n
And when it comes to fire glass, one of our special products, the Bojar company is one of only six glass manufacturers in Poland that supply this type of glass and the only manufacturer in its region. What distinguishes us from other manufacturers of fire glass based on tempered glass is that we are the only one to supply it without visible anisotropy.<\/p>\n

Improved processes, superior product quality<\/strong>
Although Bojar has been using the new quenching furnace from the Glaston FC series for less than a year, Christopher Harasimowicz says the results were quickly noticed.<\/p>\n
– With Insight Reporting Pro, we can clearly see how the entire process is going and have full control over the quenching furnace. We are able to track how even the slightest modification of settings affects the quality of the final product,” he explains.<\/p>\n
– By optimizing the recipes in the process of quenching, we were able to achieve the highest quality product. Most importantly, the end result meets the expectations of our customers. And with the data that receives from the iLook scanner and Insight’s Reporting Pro reporting system, workflow has been improved, which helps minimize delays and increase productivity glass tempering.<\/p>\n
The Insight tool provides us with accurate and comprehensive reports that can be accessed from any device. The employee responsible for production planning can observe the necessary information on the quenching process from the office and make key decisions to optimize it. The system allows us to accurately plan lead times for orders. What’s more, we know that Insight Reporting Pro is constantly being developed and improved, which makes us very happy.<\/p>\n
Quality proven on paper<\/strong>
– The increasing expectations of today’s customers have made innovative machinery and quality control systems an essential element of a modern company, says Krzysztof Harasimowicz. – With the new production solutions, our customers can be assured, that if their project requires tempered glass with corrugations from the rolls no more than 0.06 mm, we will deliver it as expected and confirm it on paper.<\/p>\n

Experience and organizational advantage<\/strong>
Krzysztof Harasimowicz also points out that the commissioning and training phases of the furnace operators were carried out in a very professional manner. The well planned process reduced the installation time from eight to five weeks and resulted in a fast and trouble-free startup of the stove.<\/p>\n
